Bikes we have appraised at the Auburn shop

Here is our honest opinion after years of doing this in western Washington. A motorcycle is the smartest thing most people can pawn.

Think about the riding year here. The bike sits in a garage from roughly November through March while it rains sideways. Six months of the year it is a very expensive piece of furniture. If you need cash during that stretch, handing us the keys costs you almost nothing you were using anyway.

Try that logic with the car you drive to work. It falls apart immediately.

How it works at our Auburn shop

Simple, and the same as it is for any vehicle we take in.

You bring the bike and the clear title. We look it over and quote you a number. We hold the bike and the title for the term of the loan, in secure storage, and you ride it home when the loan is paid off.

No credit check. Nothing reported to the bureaus. Cash the same visit in most cases.

You do not keep riding it during the loan. We are clear about that because some advertising out there is not, and Washington does not permit the product those ads describe. There is more on that on our car title loan alternative page.

What we take

  • Cruisers and touring bikes
  • Sport bikes
  • Dual sport and adventure bikes
  • Dirt bikes with a title
  • Trikes
  • Scooters, if the value is there

Harley, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Ducati, Triumph, BMW. Brand matters less than condition, mileage, and what that particular bike sells for around here.

What decides the number

  1. Year, make and model. Some cruisers hold value stubbornly. Some sport bikes do not.
  2. Mileage. Bikes live different lives than cars. Twenty thousand miles on a touring bike is nothing. On a dirt bike that same figure suggests a machine ridden hard through several seasons, so we look considerably more closely at the engine and the suspension.
  3. Mechanical condition. We start it and we listen. Chain, tires, brakes, fork seals, any weeping gaskets.
  4. Clear title in your name. No lien, name matching your ID.
  5. Cosmetics and drop damage. Scraped bar ends and a cracked fairing move the number. Be upfront and we will be too.
  6. Aftermarket parts. Exhaust, bags and a windscreen can help. A wild custom paint job usually narrows the buyer pool.

Our process prices off what actually moves in King and Pierce Counties, not a national book value. Because we sell vehicles out of the same Auburn shop, we see exactly which machines riders around here are buying and which ones sit for months without a serious offer.

Does regional demand really change what a motorcycle is worth?

Substantially. A weatherproof touring bike with hard luggage is a genuinely practical proposition in western Washington, while an aggressive track focused sport bike appeals to a much narrower group of local buyers, and that difference in demand translates directly into the appraisal we can offer you.

The seasonal angle nobody mentions

Timing changes what your bike is worth to us. That is worth knowing before you pick a month.

Demand for bikes in the south sound climbs as spring arrives and drops off hard once the weather turns. If you pawn in February, you are handing us collateral in the softest part of the year. Bring the same bike in April and the local resale picture looks better.

Does that mean you should wait if you need money now? No. Need is need, and we will still make you an offer. But if your timing is flexible by a few weeks, it can be worth a phone call to (253) 380-0040 to talk it through.

Who else is going to tell you to come back later?

What to bring

  • The motorcycle
  • The clear title, in your name
  • A valid photo ID
  • Both keys if you have them

If there is a lien on the bike, we cannot lend against it. Call first and we will save you the trip.

Walk in Monday through Friday, 10 to 5. Weekends by appointment between 8 and 11. You can also start your quote online or read our pawn process step by step.

Stored properly while we hold it

This is the question riders ask before any other, and fair enough. Your bike is not sitting out in the weather in a back lot.

We are a licensed Washington pawnbroker operating under RCW 19.60, and the collateral remains our responsibility for the entire term of the loan, which is a legal obligation rather than a courtesy we extend when it suits us. Bikes are stored inside. You get it back in the condition you handed it over, and you can look at where it will sit before you sign anything.

Storage is the part riders worry about most, and reasonably so, because a motorcycle left standing outside through a Puget Sound winter will develop corrosion on the chain and the brake components within a matter of weeks.

Serving Auburn and the south sound

We are at 1202 A St SE, Auburn, WA 98002, and we have been here since November 2021. Riders come to us from Federal Way, Kent, Puyallup, Renton, Tacoma, and from around Seattle and Bellevue.

One shop. The person who appraises your bike is the person who hands it back.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I keep riding my motorcycle during the loan?

No. We hold the bike and the title for the term and you ride it home once the loan is paid off. It is stored inside while we have it.

Do you check my credit?

No. The motorcycle secures the loan, so your credit history is not part of the decision. Bring a valid photo ID and a clear title in your name.

How much can I get for my bike?

Year, make, model, mileage, mechanical condition and local resale demand all factor in. Cruisers and touring bikes often appraise higher than older sport bikes. Bring it by for a real figure.

Do you take dirt bikes and scooters?

Dirt bikes yes, as long as there is a title. Scooters depend on the value. Call (253) 380-0040 and describe it and we will tell you before you load it up.

Is my bike stored outside?

No. Motorcycles are stored inside for the term of the loan. You are welcome to see the storage area before you agree to anything.

What happens if I cannot pay it back?

You forfeit the bike and we sell it. Nothing goes to collections and nothing hits your credit file, because the loan was secured by the motorcycle itself.
